All you really need to
begin practicing yoga is your body, your mind, and a bit of curiosity. But
it is also helpful to have a pair of sweat pants, leggings, or shorts, and a
t-shirt that's not too baggy. No special footgear is required because you'll be barefoot. It's nice to bring a towel to class with you. As your
practice develops you might want to buy your own yoga mat, but most studios
will have mats and other props available for you.

Yoga should be
practiced on an empty stomach and make sure to hydrate after class.
Lastly, make sure to inform your instructor before class of illness or
injury or any challenges to your health or physical wellbeing.
The most important lesson here is to learn to listen to your body, mind and spirit. We do this by paying close attention to the breath. The stretches are a tool to retrain your body and mind to breathe with more ease and experience more joy.
Do not engage in negative dialogue with yourself as you explore the poses.
Practice compassion towards yourself and others. No judgments or expectations.

Don’t take it too
seriously & have fun!
